According to a report, San Antonio Spurs guard Derrick White will be out of action for 6-8 weeks due to a heel injury.

The Spurs depth at point guard spot has taken a hit in the preseason.

Aside from White (who was tabbed as the team's starting point guard heading into the regular-season) third-year pro Dejounte Murray will likely miss the entire upcoming regular-season due to a right knee ACL injury he suffered in a preseason match versus Houston.

White and Murray aren't the only Spurs dealing with injury. Rookie Lonnie Walker IV suffered a meniscus tear in the team's preseason game against the Pistons. He underwent surgery and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Expect Patty Mills, and Bryn Forbes to assume point guard responsibilities. The Spurs could be eligible for the NBA's disabled player exception considering the rash of injuries the team has suffered.

The Spurs play the Orlando Magic in a preseason game Friday night.
