Toss this on the mounting pile of rumors concerning Kawhi Leonard's future with the San Antonio Spurs.

According to an article from Business Insider, their source said Kawhi's agency and family are not fond of Texas and point to San Antonio's small market reach impacting Leonard's marketability.

A league source told Business Insider that Leonard's agency and family have never been fond of Texas and feel that San Antonio, a small market, has hurt Leonard's marketability when it comes to sponsors. The same source said Leonard's shy personality is more to blame for his inability to get more sponsorships than San Antonio's market size.
The source with knowledge of the Spurs disputed that claim. The person was never aware that Leonard's camp was ever unhappy with San Antonio.

Leonard has reportedly halted discussions with the Jordan Brand over a new sneaker deal and other NBA players have come out to state Leonard could be out of San Antonio and home bound to California.

Former NBA guard Nate Robinson also made similar claims about players looking at San Antonio and taking their talents to the Alamo City.

San Antonio is a great organization but a lot of people don't want to live in San Antonio. Honestly bro, a lot of that plays a part for a lot of guys in the NBA.

Keep in mind, Leonard's sister, who manages his official Instagram page, has been on the record stating he "loves Texas" and respects the Spurs.

Ultimately, if the Spurs offer or don't offer Kawhi the $219 million extension and whether he accepts or not will answer all questions surrounding this unusual situation.
