Spurs' Bertans says team must face tough road trip one game at a time

Today the San Antonio Spurs will face the defending NBA champs Warriors in Oakland to start a tough 3-game road trip.

After Golden State, the Spurs will then face Oklahoma City, and end with a stop on Houston.

Three tough West teams that the Spurs may face in the postseason. Three teams they have not done well against in the regular-season.

This gauntlet of teams will be formidable and with the team's postseason future on the line, all they can do is take it one game at a time as forward Davis Bertans stated.

“We have to approach it one game at a time. We have Golden State, we get through that game and try to win, do our best and then think about the next one," Bertans said.

Even taking it one game at a time will prove a test for the Spurs.

This season, the Spurs are 0-2 against the Warriors, 1-1 versus the Thunder and 0-2 versus the Rockets. That's a combined 1-5 mark against the West's best.

In addition, the Spurs have gone 1-6 versus West teams in their last seven games and are 3-7 since the All-Star break.

Said Danny Green recently when asked about the mentality heading into this 3-game road trip, “Trying to find a rhythm, trying to find ourselves, trying to find anything to keep things going positively chemistry-wise."

One game at a time may be the right approach this this rough patch of games ahead of them.

Survival mode and a healthy sense of desperation will be needed for this Spurs team need to simply survive.

"That’s pretty much it," said Bertans.
