San Antonio Spurs' Gregg Popovich and guard Dejounte Murray were on hand to give new shoes to every student enrolled at San Antonio's Gates Elementary on Wednesday through a donation to Shoes That Fit and gave over 200 students in the Gates Elementary School the shoes.

A memorable moment for all involved but one student will have Murray etched in her mind every time she ties her shoes.

While Murray was giving out the sneakers, one student didn't know how to lace up her new shoes.

Luckily for her, Dejounte was there to give her an assist.

"Hearing one of the little girls saying she didn't know how to tie her shoes and I got to help her, teach her how to tie her shoes," said Murray. "The moments like that means the most."

Located in the Eastside Promise Neighborhood, over 95 percent of Gates Elementary students are economically disadvantaged.

"You never know, they might not get a pair of shoes everyday," Murray said. "You never know what those kid's situations are. It's definitely a blessing to be able to give them shoes."

Murray went on to discuss just how happy the kids were to see him and Popovich walk into their school with the shoes. It reminded him of his childhood getting new shoes and taking care of them.

He also explained just how important it is to give back to the community.

"Stuff like this is important to do," Murray said. "These kids may not never be able to see a great coach in coach Pop and a player in myself ever again. They're going to remember things like this so its important for us to give back."
