UTSA's Jackson and Wallace named co-C-USA Player of the Week
SAN ANTONIO - UTSA guards Jhivvan Jackson and Keaton Wallace are the Conference USA Players of the Week.
The two sophomores combined for 147 games over a two game span.
Jackson scored 46 points at Western Kentucky, a career high and also the third most in a single game in UTSA history. Wallace backed it up with a 45 point performance in an overtime win at Marshall, good for fourth in program history. Jackson is averaging 23.1 points per game while Wallace is pitching in 20.7 making them one of the top scoring duos in college basketball.
"We're just really aggressive on offense and then we just really just trying to get some wins so we just keep being aggressive," Jackson said.
This is Jackson's third conference player of the week honor this season. Their ability to play off of each other has helped UTSA stay near the top of the conference standings.
"It's great to be in a good duo with somebody that you genuinely care about," Wallace added. "That's my friend, that's my partner. So after this we're probably going to get some shots up together so we've got to keep it going the dynamic duo that's what they call us, so we're going to keep that going."
The Road Runners return home to take on FIU on Thursday at 7 p.m.
