Brad Sowder

As an Emmy award-winning severe weather expert, Brad Sowder holds the designation of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society. Recently he spent several years forecasting morning weather in Oklahoma City and was a featured storm chaser during severe weather. He is one of the only meteorologists that has chased tornadoes from a helicopter. Before Oklahoma, Brad forecasted for a number of years in Colorado.

Sowder is originally from Virginia and is an atmospheric science graduate from the University of North Carolina in Asheville. An avid outdoors enthusiast, Brad enjoys staying up-to-date with the latest trends in technology. When not on-air, be sure to stay up with Brad on social media.

Brad along with his wife and daughter are now proud to call south Texas their home. In his free time Brad says while you will never find him on a treadmill, but say hello to him riding his bike along the greenway trails or hiking up Enchanted Rock.
