Connect With Mike Hernandez

Meteorologist Mike Hernandez was born and raised in San Antonio, and loves to bring viewers vital weather information right here in his hometown.

Mike graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and then decided to go into the Air Force, where he served for ten years as a weather forecaster. Mike completed his meteorology training at Creighton University, before beginning his career in television in 1989 at KCEN-TV in central Texas. He then returned to San Antonio at KMOL-TV (now WOAI), where he helped kick off their morning news and later the San Antonio Living Show.

In 1999, Mike took on the role of Chief Meteorologist at KRQE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mike and his family came back to San Antonio in 2009, when he joined the weather team at Fox San Antonio.

Mike enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. He also is a volunteer firefighter with the Grey Forest Fire Department. Mike is happily married to Rose Hernandez and has four children, Michael, Phillip John, Monique and John-Michael.
